Is your name available in another suffix i.e., if your first choice is domainname.co.uk, is your name available in.com or .net or .org or .org.uk?
If they are all taken, can you change your domain slightly by inserting a hyphen "-". A hyphen is the only allowed non-alphanumeric character within a domain name e.g. domain-name.co.uk?
Can you add to your name, i.e. domainname4sale.co.uk or domainnamedirect.co.uk?

How do I register a Domain Name?

Is the Domain name registered under my name?

Who are the LTD & PLC domain names for?
The suffixes .ltd.uk and .plc.uk are reserved for companies who are registered as a Limited or Public Limited Company. When applying for these names, the naming authority will contact Companies House and do a manual search to establish if you are the company who own the rights to that business title. Nominet (The UK Registrar) are extremely strict as to how your name must appear. For example If Freezone Internet Ltd wanted to register this name, we would need to submit the application for Freezoneinternet.ltd.uk. Freezone could not shorten the name in any way i.e. Freezone.ltd.uk only the full registered name is acceptable.
Why secure an international domain?
International names i.e. .com .net .org are the most sought after domains. These are top level domains. They are the most sought after due to their availability for use and purchase from most countries around the world as opposed to the local ones .co.uk (UK) .co.fr (France) .co.nz (New Zealand). Many UK businesses own .com or .net names because they are more popular not just globally but in the UK as well. Many UK citizens recognise the .com or .net brand as an internet name but are still a little unsure of the significance of a .co.uk. Securing a name with a top level suffix will also help your site with many of the worlds top Search Engines as some give priority to top level domains.

What is Email Forwarding?
Email forwarding is where the ISP intercepts the emails going to your domain name and forwards it to an existing email account, possibly with an existing ISP.

What is a Micro Filter?
When Broadband is enabled on your telephone line, all of your telephone sockets can transmit a Broadband signal. This signal can interfere with voice and fax calls, making the line sound crackly.
Filters remove the crackle and let you make normal voice and fax calls at the same time you're online with your Broadband connection.
If you have more than one telephone socket attached to the telephone line you intend to use for Broadband, you will need to order a micro filter for each socket. Phone extension cables can cause problems and we do not advise their use with a micro filter.
Can I connect more than one computer to the Internet with Broadband?
Yes Freezone Internet does not prohibit connection sharing. However although some operating systems such as Windows XP allow multiple users to share a single Internet connection, Freezone Internet does not provide technical assistance for networking your computers. However Business customers are required to use a Business connection that provides a 20:1 contention ratio suitable for small networks and offers a considerable cost saving over a leased line.
Can I install Broadband in any room in the house?
You can connect your Broadband modem to any correctly wired phone sockets in your house using the filters supplied.
What is a Static IP Addresses?
A 'Static' IP Address can be provided as an option with any of the ADSL packages, this means that a computer on your connection will have a permanent address on the internet. The benefits of having a static IP Address over the standard dynamic address (which changes each time you log-on) means that you can for example host a web site (although the limited upload bandwidth makes this unsuitable for anything other than "family" web sites)

Why don't you use Front Page?

That means that a site built with FrontPage will often display beautifully in Internet Explorer (as both FrontPage and Internet Explorer are owned by Microsoft), but will be a jumbled, unreadable mess in the Netscape or Opera browser.

How long will it take ?
If you have the copy (text) for your site written before the design process begins, it generally takes 2 - 6 weeks from start to finish. Copy should be in electronic format, preferably MS Word format. Not having your copy completed before the design process can significantly delay the production of your site.
